Joel Holcomb has been involved with photography for over 35 years. He has been a member of the Eastern Maine Camera Club in Bangor, Maine since 2001, and is a member of the Maine Professional Photographers Association. He has won many awards in intra-club, All-Maine, and New England Camera Club Council photo competitions. Now retired after 33 years with a major process controls company, he is pursuing a second career in photography. Joel has worked towards this goal by taking many professional workshops at the Maine Media Workshops in Rockport, Maine. Joel’s style of portrait photography is commonly referred to as “Environmental Portraiture.” This means that rather than have you come to a studio, he will come to you and create your portrait in a setting that has personal meaning for you, such as your living room, garden, or office.
